Sam Mannering is a food writer, chef and actor based in Auckland, New Zealand.
He has been the weekly food columnist in the Sunday Star Times since 2015, and contributes regularly to a number of magazines including Cuisine, Taste, Uno and House and Garden.
He is the author of three cookbooks, Food Worth Making; A Year's Worth: Recipes from Dunsandel Store and Everyday Strength: Recipes and Tips for Cancer Patients. A fourth is due out in September 2018.
He is the executive chef and owner of Homestead and Company. Since opening in March 2016, Homestead has been named Best Destination Cafe by the 2016 Metro Cafe Awards, one of the Metro Top 50 Cafes 2017, and has played host to major events including Diner en Blanc.
He has made regular appearances on Newstalk ZB, Radio Live, TV3's The Cafe and TVNZ's Whanau Living, and formerly on TV1's Good Morning.
He has worked with a number of respected brands including Fisher and Paykel, Citta, Cloudy Bay Wines, TedX, and Huawei.
Since training at the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, Sam has also acted in a number of projects both locally and overseas, including TVNZ's Hillary.
Sam is proud to be involved with a number of charities including Totara Hospice, The Men's Health Trust and the Wallace Arts Trust.
